Colorado 1650 Earned the Performance Certificate

Canon, the leader in imaging technologies, has earned the “3M Performance Guarantee” certification for its new printer, Colorado 1650, and UVgel 460 ink. 3M, a media manufacturer, tested Canon’s innovative UVgel 460 inks across its proprietary print options to evaluate quality standards. This certification confirms that Canon’s advanced printing solution, the Colorado 1650, meets the highest quality standards.

Launched last year, the Canon Colorado 1650 printing machine stands out with its flexible and durable structure, award-winning roll-to-roll printing capabilities, and superior performance features. Thanks to its new ink set, which uses an innovative approach to LED curing, and its FLXfinish feature, the Colorado 1650 allows users to choose between matte and gloss modes for each print. This enables different aesthetic results without needing to change inks or media rolls.

Introduced at the FESPA 2019 exhibition in Munich, the Colorado 1650 achieved rapid success in a short time. It was quickly adopted by customers producing prints for both indoor and outdoor applications, significantly expanding its usage areas.

Dirk Brouns, Vice President of Production Printing Large Format Graphics at Canon, said:
“In developing our breakthrough UVgel technology, we aimed to combine all the advantages of existing ink technologies into a single solution and provide our customers with the opportunity to work with the widest possible range of media options.

Seeing 3M grant its Performance Guarantee for UVgel inks and Colorado 1650 prints is a testament to the consistent high-quality and reliable outputs our customers can achieve. As our growing customer base continues to expand, UVgel technology is quickly becoming the preferred choice, particularly in emerging categories like PVC-free print media, which represent the future of the industry.”
